What I wore today.

Hi guys, this is another quick one just to show you what I wore today. The lighting was rubbish outside and in and so is my camera though these aren't the world best pictures but they are the best of a bad bunch!
Today was my day off and I spent the majority of it lounging about looking at pictures of Zac Efron and drinking chocolate milk- 2 of my main obsessions right now.
These are my new shoes, they re kinda like flatforms but with a bit more wedge. They are really comfy and I love the extra bit of height they give me. They are from H&M and were £20! I've got a lot of love for that place right now with the shoes and the blazer and jeans!
That's all from me now, probably until Sunday. Hope you all enjoy the rest of your week! I plan on doing another 'Style Stealer' on Sunday (meant to be today but I didn't get the time) so if there's someone you'd like to see one on, formspring me! XXX

I'd be smiling if I wasn't so desperate. I'd be patient if I had the time.

Hello!
This post is so much later than I had planned, I'm a bit annoyed at myself because I have spent pretty much the whole day playing dress up and feeding my face. My time management has always been SHOCKING.
Anyhow, better late than never.
Yesterday after work I met my best friend for a wander 'round the Bullring and Starbucks. I took it as an opportunity to pick up a few things that I want for my birthday- I buy things when I see them and then people give me the money for them and wrap them! That might be a bit weird to some of you but for me it really works because I get what I want and people don't have to stress.
The above jacket is one of my gifts that I was too excited about and had to show you guys. I only wore it for the photographs and then swapped it over for my orange one (in a few posts down). I know I said I hated pastels and that I wasn't going to be wearing them, but that all changed when I saw this jacket in last weeks LOOK magazine and I decided that I needed it in my life/jacket collection. There are 4 H&M's in Birmingham and I could only find it in one of the stores and on the rack they only had 3 size 10's and a 14 but luckily there was one of the mannequin so I got the sales assistant to climb up and get it so I could see the size, which turned out to be mine and the perfect fit. I literally RAN to the till!
I also picked up some new jeans from another H&M, and they are incredible. I have an absolute fucking nightmare when it comes to jeans. I am 5ft 2 and a size 4-6 and I like my jeans ankle skimming and TIGHT. meaning it is virtually impossible. The jeans I have been living in the past year I have to wash every time I want to wear them and tumble-dry then for about an hour and a half to get the really tight because they are a 6 and too big. Anyhow, all that changed yesterday when I found the perfect shade, 24 waist, ankle skimming jeans for £14.99. I am actually in love. I'm thinking of going back in the week and getting another pair if they have them, because I have a feeling my old size 6 New Look's will now be retiring.
What do you guys think about jeans, and where do you buy yours from?!
I also picked up a few rings from H&M which you can see in the pictures above. I am thoroughly enjoying overloading jewellery right now and so I thought I'd get a few new pieces.
The necklaces are also new. They are from New Look and currently all the jewellery and hair accessories in there are on buy one get one free which I think is really good, so get involved!

As I have waffled on quite a bit about nothing of great importance I think I'll go now and just leave you with a few of this weeks Instagram pictures. I quite like this little routine I have got into of doing this!
How about you guys?

I hope you all have a fabulous week!  XXX

Sequin T-shirt.

Hi guys.
This is just a generic face/hair picture post, because I don't have much time/energy but wanted to give a little something.  I took these the other day before a MASSIVE outbreak on my face occurred :( I bought the top MONTHS ago from Topshop, but I don't think I ever got 'round to showing you on here. I really like it but it's a weird length and so it doesn't particularly go with anything other than my mid-waisted jeans, which isn't great.
This week has been pretty long with work and stuff but it's been good never-the-less. I hope everyone has had a pleasant week, what did you all think of yesterdays weather? I got very excited and has an alfresco lunch, it was lovely!
It has made me even more excited about the upcoming Spring/Summer months and lovely outfits that I'll be able to enjoy! I'm going to start doing some more posts on outfits and things over the next few weeks to try and channel my excitement to good use before the weather actually arrives.
Have a good weekend! XXX

Monday Funday.

HELLO.
My outfit from today was pretty boring and very similar to what you have already seen in a previous post so instead I thought I'd share with you an ensemble I created while playing dress up tonight. Over the past two days I have been getting really excited for the Spring/Summer months to arrive- I am so fed up of being cold and it raining. The novelty of layering has truly ran dry now for me. And so I have been thinking about outfits that I can create from my current wardrobe.
It is my birthday a month tomorrow and around about the time when I start getting asked what I would like, I start to think of the warmer weather approaching and what I'd like to be wearing.
This outfit is something I'll wear maybe with some brogues to meet the girls for lunch or maybe with some heels for a beer garden evening or something, with my cat eye sunglasses.

In other news, yesterday marked the day of my 700th post! I am actually quite excited about this! So here is to another 700!
Also, I am currently OBSESSED with the idea of getting a nose ring and a new tattoo. I am thinking of getting the tattoo for my birthday as it's something that I have been wanted to get done for about 18months now. The nose ring however I think might be done sooner. I think it's a case of getting it out of my system, so knowing me it'll be in for about a week before I have a change out heart and take it out, but I'll never know if I never try!
I'm not sure why all of a sudden I have seemed to turn into a massive greebo but I'm cool with it.
I've spent the evening prancing about my house with one of my little sisters ear cuffs hooked around my nose like a maniac to try and get an idea of how it's going to look. Here's a photo I took of me in action...

Also, here is a picture of the shoes I fell in love with today when shopping with Charmaine. I saw them in Selfridges about a month ago and was swooning over them back then, but today when I tried them on it nearly brought a tear to my eye. It was a beautiful moment. I need them in my life so I can take them dancing on my birthday!

I'm feeling pretty sad that my day off is now drawing to an end, so I'm off to go and make the most of my next hour or so awake.
Over & Out!

When you've given up, when no matter what you do is ever good enough.

Hello, here's a few photo's of me and what I wore today. I got the brogues yesterday from my Mom. SO excited because I'd been pining after them for about a week and a half. I needed them in my life. I'm really looking forward to the weather perking up so I can wear them with shorts and stuff. Until then I shall be wearing them with jeans/leather trousers. The shirt is the one I bought with my credit note. The remaining money I think I'm going to put towards one of my birthday outfits. River Island usually has some good stuff in and this year I'm determined to get a dress! Anyway, I am sidetracking.

HURRRRR.

As I said, I've been getting a lot of comments and questions about my hair so I thought I'd do a little thing on it now so anyone who cares will know what the deal with it is.

Getting my hair the colour it is:
Basically, I haven't had my hair coloured in about 8 months. I hate my hair when it's freshly done because I don't think it suits me without roots. My hair is naturally quite a light brown and so seems to blend pretty well with my highlights and so I haven't really needed to get it done. So no, I don't dye my roots brown or get my hair dyed 3 inches down my head, I just don't get it done. Period!

How I style my hair:
I am rubbish with hair styles, and even when I bother to do much to it it just drops out.
My routine is  to wash and condition it in the morning, blow dry it and then run a few curls through it with my GHD's, which then drop out after about 5 minutes leaving me with a kind of messy, dragged through a hedge look.

What products I use:
I am currently using Tracy McAdams shampoo and conditioner which smells AHHHMAAAZING. I use a tangle teezer (I don't know how I ever coped without one) and then just some hair spray. (I told you I am shit at hair).

Instagram

Here's just a few pictures from this week from my Instagram (missy_elz if you want to follow) inc todays nails.

The bottom left picture shows how I woke up the other morning; fully dressed in my work uniform, watch, red lipstick and all! Strong look! And the lights were on. Super tired!

Anyway, that's all from me tonight, I am off to chill out and listen to Emeli Sandes album. I am actually in love with it. I havent listened to anything else since I got it. If you haven't already, GET INVOLVED. She is incredible. (ps. the title is one of her lyrics, not me having a meltdown).

Ways to wear: Striped blazer

This week I was asked if I could do a post on outfit ideas for a striped blazer. For this post I have used a River Island blazer which you can get HERE to create 6 day and evening looks.
Due to it being quite a statement piece I have mixed it with textures and colours as opposed to additional prints and accessorized with funky jewellery to add detail. If you are keen to add another print I would opt for a typical leopard print but in shoe or bag form and add a bold block coloured  piece to break it up.

Casual Friday.

Jumper- Oasis

Hi everyone! I hope everyone is good and has had a good week!
I thought I'd do a quick little post to stay on the radar and to show you a jumper I bought a while back. I'm not really a jumper kind of kid but I loved this as soon as I saw it with the odd stripes and embellished swallows, I thought it was really pretty.
I think this is only the second or third time I have worn it, because I don't think jumpers really suit me but it's nice a cosy for a night in with my sister.
As predicted this week has been pretty long, I have worked loads as well as spending a good day and a half opening all the valentines day cards and gifts I had received on Tuesday... Oh wait....
Anyway,  I have Sunday and Monday off so will blog more sensibly then! I also have a few Formsprings I need to do, so if anyone has anything to ask get involved. I've had a lot of questions about my hair, which is kind of funny because I haven't had it done for 8 months and generally look like I've been dragged through a hedge, but it's always lovely to hear from you all.
That's all from me, enjoy your weekend!

Weekend!

Hello everyone, I hope you've all had a lovely weekend!
This weekend I went shopping with my friend and then went out last night for one of my friends birthday.
When I was shopping yesterday I put my River Island credit note to good use and purchased the sheer scarf print shirt that I featured in one of last weeks post, I love it. I originally bought it to wear last night but I ended up wearing my slutty leopard dress instead because it was SO cold.
I only really intended on buying something from R.I- because of the credit note and some eyelashes but I also ended up buying this new orange jacket, a spiked bracelet and a black silk kimono (which was £3!! Will show you in another post soon!)
I am literally in love with this jacket, I can't wait to wear it, I think it's going to be one of my summer saviours. I'm not really a pastel fan (sorry S/S 12 fiends) so I'll be wearing brights to dress up my monochrome and denim.

I didn't get 'round to taking any proper pictures of last nights outfit so I thought I'd share with you a few of this weeks instagram pictures instead, which to be fair to gives you a gist of what I wore yesterday day and night and my new top!

I think I have quite a hideous week ahead so I apologise if I don't get 'round to posting again, although I will try.
If not, I hope you all have a wonderful week, oh and have a fabulous valentines day!
I am representing single ladies this year for the first time in a while, so will be doing ZERO other than work (unless Olly Murs comes to Birmingham and sweeps me of my feet!)
What about you lot?! Lemme know! :)

Snizzle Kicks.

Hi Guys! Just a quick mid-week generic snow/outfit post.
This is the outfit I mentioned in the previous post, I thought I'd share it with you now, before it gets too late.
I always dread snow because I don't have appropriate apparel or footwear for that sort of weather, so when the weekends snow arrived I went into panic mode. I guess this outfit isn't particularly practical but it's pretty much as sensible as it gets for me.
The leather panelled leggings are H&M, hunky knit scarf is from New Look and the blazer is River Island.
More importantly, check out my kicks! I bought these a few years ago when I was at University. I went into Foot Asylum, saw them and fell in love. I think they are ridiculous and brilliant at the same time. Although I knew I probably wouldn't wear them, I couldn't leave without them. After about 3 years, the purchase finally paid off!

This, is my face.

Hello! This is just a really quick post because my plans to show you what I wore today didn't work out but I'll try and post that in the week, along with new additions.
This is my new Warehouse top. I saw it about a month ago and was really drawn to it, and since then it had played on my mind. Then last week in a morning meeting I was told that we were receiving extra staff discount for warehouse for a short period of time, so I took that as a sign to treat myself!
I haven't really bought anything lately (compared to my normal impulse buying) so it was nice to have a little pay day treat.
I can't wait 'til the weather gets nicer and I can wear it without having to cover it in layers. I have a new clutch which I think it will look sick with too!
That's all from me right now, have a great week!

Thursday Schmursday

Top 10 (+1): River Island

Today I returned the embellished shorts I had bought before Christmas for my staff party, because they were so big they looked ridiculous. Surprisingly they gave me a credit note for the full amount I paid,so I didn't have to impulse buy there and then. When I got home I decided to check out their website to see what I could spent    the credit note on and found so much hot stuff, so I thought I'd show you my top 10, which then turned into a top 11. I am loving the garish scarf prints at the moment. What do yo lot think of them?

(all items available at RiverIsland.com)

Instagram

I thought I'd share a few Instagram pictures with you from my past week of being out & about.
I had to get new passport photo's done today so I can get a new staff card as I lost mine when my bag was stolen. I can't say I'm overjoyed with the turnout but they will have to do, as at £5 a pop I'm not up for getting more done!
I also made an effort with my nails this week. I went for leopard print and gold glitter tips, all done myself, then very rapidly smudged by myself about 5 minutes later!
In photo 5 you'll see I'm busting about in Ugg boots. I can't even explain how much I am re-loving my Uggs right now. After a 12+ hour day on my feet getting home and putting these bad boys on is so good. I must add though, these are house shoes, and not for the outside world!

End note

Finally, for those interested in the Velvet AMOS boots I have been wearing recently,  they are now in the sale on ASOS.

That's all from me today, Happy February!
