Who run the world?

So last night me & the girls went to see Beyonce, at the first UK date of her 'Mrs Carter' world tour and she was INCREDIBLE!! It was actually so surreal to be in the same room as such an absolute goddess, she put on such a brilliant show, I was in awe through the whole set. From her voice and dancing, to the outfits, it was just amaaaaazing.

Last night I can only describe my look as 'ghetto hooker from Miami. Which I was actually kind of digging.
But how amazing do my girls look?!

What I am wearing:
Cami: Topshop,
Boyfriend Jeans: New Look,
Stilettos: Topshop,
Bag: Vintage Chanel,
Ankle cuffs: ASOS,
Necklace: Mango,
Watch: Michael Kors.
-My jacket seen in the group picture is from H&M trend.

What I've been buying.

I thought I'd share with you a few of my favourite recent purchases. I've spent the past few months just head to toe in black and grey and wearing a woolly hat, but now we are getting into the 'warmer' (HAAA) months, I am pushing the black to the back of my wardrobe and going for splashes of colour and playing around with some prints.
I'm still really into simple, clean cut pieces, but I can't continue to walk around dressed like I am in mourning!
I bought these blue laser-cut platforms from Topshop last week in the sale, I have been lusting over them for a while, but refused to pay £80 for them, but when I saw they'd gone down for £40 I decided it would be criminal not to!
The red blazer is my most recent of purchases, from MANGO and I can't wait to wear it!
Its such an amazing colour and will be perfect to throw over just a basic and a pair of jeans, either with some heels or some ballets!

Clockwise:- Platforms: & Dungaree's: Topshop, Green & black sandals, printed shirt and bag: Zara, Sunglasses & lipstick: Topshop, Trainers: Nike and Red Blazer: Mango,.

Lust List

I've been away for ages again, I know, so instead of trying to promise more than I am clearly capable of I'm just going to say sorry and that I will update when I get the time.
Anyhow, I've spent my afternoon having a little online browse so I thought I'd share with you some of the things that I am pining over right now :) -All of the above are currently on Topshop.com.
As I have mentioned before, if you have any mild interest in my life/what I have been wearing or buying, my Twitter and Instagram user names are both Missy_Elz- so maybe see you there.
Until then, over & out. XXX

Everything's gonna be all white, everything's gonna be okay.

I thought I'd do a piece for you today on one of the upcoming trends that I am really excited by at the moment- White.
Now, I know this isn't the most practical of looks, but impractical is my middle name.
Because I am petite and look quite young, I love crisp, simple looks, with clean lines and well cut shapes as I think that they make me look well finished, and this trend does just that.
Seen on celebrities, at fashion week for S/S '13 and also big on the street style scene (weather permitted here of course) the white trend is so fresh, has such an impact and the pieces that you buy are going to have longevity as well as versatility.

The high streets hot pieces

Loose dipped hem- Topshop, Twist shift dress: Topshop, Cropped knit: Topshop, Metallic heels: Topshop, Necklace: Topshop, Jacket: Topshop, Handbag: ASOS, Sunglasses: River Island, Bone skinny jeans: Topshop, Lipstick- in 'Macarroon'- Topshop, Nail Lacquer- ESSIE.

Accessorising this look

First things first, this look requires a tan, and when I say tan I dont mean I want you all looking like you're one of the new cast members from TOWIE, but a subtle hint of colour is going to make you look healthier, and stop you from looking like Casper the friendly ghost. (Good tans I'd recommend are; Daves, St. Moriz & Superdrugs Solait mousses).

I think simple, clean accessories are a perfect way to compliment white pieces, and so I have chosen metallics, rose hued sunglasses and candy coloured cosmetics, however, as featured above, black and snakeskin also work really well. My only advice would be to keep.it.simple.

Watering it down

Leather jacket: Warehouse, Mid-stone jeans- Topshop, Coated 'Molly' jeans- River Island, Snake clutch: ASOS, Monochrome sandals: Tophop

Obviously this white on white is not going to be to everyone taste, nor their lifestyle, however this doesn't mean it cant be worked to suit you.
For work I will be wearing clean white pieces, such a jackets and shirts, teamed with leather pants or mid wash jeans, or a simple black tee with some white skinnys and some statement jewellery, to incorporate white pieces into a more practical everyday look.

What do you guys think? Is this a look you'll be favouring this season?

Look who's back ;)

Hello everyone! After a very long break from here, I am back! My last post was three months ago and since then so much has happened and been purchased that I can not even begin to fill you in of my goings on, so instead I thought I'd show you my past few weeks in outfits and then just go forward from there. During my break, I was considering not bothering with this anymore, due to a number of things from time, energy and generally the fact that from using other social media sites, I haven't liked what the blogging world seemed to be turning into and didn't really want to be a part of it. However, after receiving so many lovely comments, messages and emails, you all made me realise Missy Elz isn't a part of that and gave me a little kick up the bum and I figured it would be stupid to throw in the towel, so here I am :)
Over the next few weeks my aim is to get back into the swing of things more and start featuring more of what you want to see and read. My formspring link is over to the left, and so if you have anything you wish to ask or would like to see then let me know. Until then, here is some my of recent outfits...

What I wore today.

This is me today with my cousins not-so-little now dog. I went out last night so at this point I was mildly hungover but I'm all recovered now! Here I am wearing A jumper, leggings & jacket, all Topshop, my bag is A/W 11/12 Zara and the hat is from New Look.
I am a bit obsessed with this hat at the moment. I bought it a few weeks ago and have literally lived in it ever since. On my days off I have pretty much been wearing all black and this hat.  I've started a slightly new role in work, which now allows me to wear my own clothes and its proving to be very stressful, so when I'm not there I like to just go for something easy. I think I'm going through a mid-life fashion crisis!  xxx

Just because.

I'm tired, and I have nothing particularly interesting to say right now, but I just wanted to share this picture with you.
I don't even know how to put into words how incredible I think Kelly Osbourne looks here! I love everything about this look. Its making me look forward to being able to wear my own extremely man-repelling jumpsuit. I just need a sexy long haired male now to complete the look I think! XXX

Turtle Necks first outing.

Sorry for the not-so-great photograph, it was taken on my phone because I absolutely give up with my camera these days, it's too rubbish!
Yesterday, like every other day this week was really cold and so I really wasn't very motivated to be very innovative, so I opted for another fail-safe all black number. I thought it was also time to crack out my new, highly anticipated turtle neck.  I picked it up a couple of months back when the weather was nice from Zara. It was an absolute steal at £5.99 so I thought I'd get it and keep it for when the colder months arrived, and here they are!
Jeans; Zara, Jacket; H&M, Bag; Moschino, Watch; Michael Kors, Slippers; Topshop.

Florida shopping.

I thought today I would show you some of my latest additions that I picked up while I was in America.
I LOVE America for shopping, and always seem to go a little wild, but I am really pleased with everything that I bought. Pretty much everything I got over there was much less expensive than it would be if I had purchased it all at home (that's my reasoning...). I also find that when I'm there I buy things that I would never buy here but actually really want; ie, my new iPad (+ Marc Jacobs accessories ) and a Michael Kors watch (actually in love).

I also caved in and bought some American Apparel disco pants- and a leotard, yes, a leotard.... I don't even know who I am anymore. The disco pants though are brilliant. They're like Spanx! Definitely going to get my wear out of them.

Mainly thought I stocked up on cosmetics. Before I even got on the plane I was spending! I thought I'd pick up a couple of Duty Free treats and so bought Benefit 'Browzings' in Medium and an YSL lipstick in 'Lingerie Rose'.
In America they have my favourite beauty store Sephora, and so I took full advantage of that. There used to be Sephora stores in the UK years ago, and it was always my favourite shop when I was younger, so when they closed them down I was gutted! I picked up a really cool Sephora exclusive which is by Benefit and has their Porefessional primer, new Oxygen foundation, 2 shades of their Bo-ing concealers and a powder in. I love it, although I am trying not to get too attached as I know I won't be able to replace it.
I also took advantage of the fact that MAC is much cheaper of there and bought 3 lipsticks and a nail polish. I bought lip shades 'MAC red', 'Myth' and 'Nicki '.

That's all from me now, I think I have rambled on enough. If any of you guys have any questions on anything in this post, feel free to comment or Formspring me and I'll get back to you :). XXX

Hello!

Hello everyone! I can't believe how long it's been. Basically I had a rubbish few weeks at work and so I went to Florida for 2 weeks. But now I'm back and determined to pull my socks up! Thank you for being patient with me and thank you for all your encouraging messages/formsprings/comments. I love you all.
Today the weather has been hideous and I have been wondering about looking like a bit of a greebo!
Here I am wearing a New Nook hat, Topshop leather pants, H&M blazer and my new bargain jumper from Primark.

In my next post I'm going to share with you some of the photo's and stuff from the last month, including what I've been doing, buying (and oh boy have I been buying) and wearing and what not! Until then, over & out!

Instagram.

Hello! I thought I'd do a little Instagram post, as 1, it's been a while, and 2, because it's easier to show you a mixture of things this way! Since my last post I have been enjoying a week from work, which has involved lots of laughs friends, re-living my teens, probably too much Sex and The City (if there is such a thing?), a new tattoo and the inevitable; shopping! I also forgot to show you guys the YSL Palais heels I got last month so here they are too!

From the top!;
My newest additions to my Topshop make-up family- I bought two of the cream blushes! Flush and Head Over Heels and I LOVE them! I've been applying them with a brush as suggested by the lady at the make-up counter and I must say I'm loving it.
My face with no lashes and trying out Estee Lauder Invisible fluid- which in my opinion is shit. Oh also, here's my new tattoo! (Sorry again Mom...)
My new jacket! The latest addition to my coat collection is this bad boy. I really wanna go all Burberry on it and stud it but I know I'd do an awful job! Also you can only just see them but I'm wearing my new hidden heel high tops. The first few days of me owning them consisted of me dancing about the house thinking I was Beyonce. It was a good time. You'll be seeing a lot of me in these, they are so comfy!
My shoe collection- no other words needed.
My new Calvin Klein set, which I loved so much I went back and bought the briefs twice.
A pointless ray Ban photo from when the weather was nicer.
What I wore today! (Top: New Look, Blazer: H&M, Clutch: Zara) and last but not least, my YSL babies :)

That's all from me now, off to carry on watching Sex and the City! (Just cried at the Louis Vuitton bag scene. I haven't cried for two months and when I do it's over a bag....)

Because I'm addicted.

Those who follow me on Twitter or Instagram will know that I am obsessed with Topshop lipsticks right now, so I thought for those who don't I would do a little post on them to share the love. Since this picture was taken I have added to the family once more and I can pretty much say for definite that it won't stop there. Along with buying underwear, these are my new viceI.
I can safely say that these are the best lipsticks I have ever known, and if you know me half well, you'll know I do love my lipstick.
At £8 each they have great coverage, are moisturising without appearing glossy and they last for ages, which is essential for someone like me when at work.

L-R; Firecracker, Secret Admirer, Tease, Whimsical, Brighton Rock, Nevada, Ooh-La-la. The newest addition which isn't in the picture is Pillow Talk, which is a pinky-nude which is a great barely there colour.
My absolute favourite is Brighton Rock though, which is like a really vibrant raspberry, and when I'm at work I feel naked without it on.
Have any of you guys tried these? How did you find them?

Having such a high opinion of these Topshop beauties has made me excited to try other pieces from their cosmetics range. I am eager to try one of there blushers but I've never been one for a cream blush? Has anyone tried them? Let me know!

What I've been wearing.

Hello everyone! Hope you are all well and have been enjoying the Summer!
This isn't the most exciting of posts, but I thought I'd share with you what I've been wearing since I've been away from here. All of these photo's were taken on my iPhone so sorry the are not the greatest!
Lately I've been mainly at work- as per, but I've also been on a couple of nights out and what not, trying to live like a normal 23 year old as opposed to the hermit that I'd become! I've drank, danced, shopped, become addicted to buying underwear and experienced some of the filthiest hangovers of my life.

From the top!
Outfit number one is from a few weeks ago, just me on a lazy Sunday at my Mom's for lunch.
I am wearing A Zara horise print blouse that I picked up in their sale, a Topshop fedora and Dune ankle boots.
Outfit number two is from one of my nights out at the end of last month with some family and my best boy Ollie. The dress and shoes are both Zara and the beaded clutch is from New Look.
Outfit number three is from last Sunday when I went to Telford shopping, it was a lovely day so I decided to wear my new dress which is Topshop. The boots are also new and from Topshop.
Outfit number four is from the night after the Zara dress night. This was one of the craziest nights for me and 4 days on I still wasn't fully recovered from the antics! Here I am wearing the Zara horse blouse (which I seem to have lived in lately!), H&M hot pants, Zara sandals and an Accessorize clutch.
Outfit Number five is from last weekend when I went out with the boys. I bought these trousers in the Topshop sale a couple of week ago for £10 and I LOVE them. They were a 6 but absolutely huge on me, so my wonderful Grandma took them in and turned them up and they came up a dream! They top is vintage and the shoes and bag are as before.
Finally, outfit number six is from yesterday. It was my nanny's 81st birthday and so we threw her a little party. It was such a beautiful day. I am wearing a H&M blazer, New Look shirt, Jane Norman (!!!) shorts and my Topshop Amelie boots.

I think I have just about updated you on everything from the last time I blogged. Sorry it took me so long. I now have a week off from work (BOOM!) and so I am going to try and do a lot more on here while I'm off.
I'm off now to go and have a HUGE sort out of my wardrobe (long over due), if I never blog again, I have probably died in a blazer avalanche.
LOVE.
Over & out!

Jazzy Pants

Close-ups
Blazer; H&M, Jumper; Topshop, Belt; Mango, Trousers; Topshop, Sandals; Zara

Hello peeps.
Happy Friday! Hope you're all okay!
I've got a little bit of a back log now of pictures to put up on here so hopefully I will be able to post more frequently.
I purchased these trousers around Christmas time out of the Topshop sale and had kind of forgotten about them, most people that have seen me in them think they are ridiculous but I think they are brilliant. I love them teamed with a heel and black pieces for a classic kind of look but I might play about with them with a printed top and a kimono or something to try and funk them up a bit. I paid about a tenner for them, which i guess is pretty good considering I'm still wearing them 6 months on!

LOOK Magazine.

In other news, I am on the LOOK magazines 'Look what I'm wearing' street style thing HERE! So if you get a free minute to visit and click 'like' that would be lovely. If you do, let me know :)
Also, if you guys have uploaded any snaps of yourself on there comment me the link so I can check you out! I love seeing what you guys are wearing.

Sales? UH OH

All items Topshop, Lipstick in shade 'secret admirer'

As I am sure you're all aware the Topshop Sale started yesterday, and I honestly fought temptation into the early hours of today, until it got to 2:45 this morning (being poorly is shit) when I caved in and made a little purchase. I could have spent ££££££'s but instead I kept it to one sale buy and a lipstick (I am so in love with their lipticks!!).
As I showed you the other day I purchased the pale pink fluid shorts a few weeks ago, when the weather was nice as I'd be lusting over them since my birthday (they were also featured on my March 'lust list'!). The shorts are actually part of a co-ord set (and I love a two piece...) with a matching blazer (and you all know I love a blazer...), so when I saw that the blazer had gone into the sale at half price I couldn't not get involved.
Topshop also do a pick up service from certain stores throughout the UK which is great as the items arrive faster and the postage is free. Roll on Monday when I can pick them up and start dressing like a marshmallow.

Lust list

Today I have spent the majority of my time sleeping and feeling slightly sorry for myself as I am poorly and not at work. So I decided to use my time awake slightly productively to blog again. I am currently looking hideous as I feel like I have been hit by a truck and so I thought I would share with you a few items that I have been lusting over this week. And let me say they are BEAUTIES, don't you think?!

One of my favourite trends at the moment- which you will be seeing more of come A/W 12/13 is embellishment- as seen of one of my latest additions: my cuffed denims. I think jewel encrusted pieces look so exquisite, especially when worn in a more casual way i.e, on denim, sweaters, jerseys...etc.
These A-Morir sunglasses are such a wonderful nod to this trend. They are the kind of piece I would expect to see on Dita Von Teese; Flirty, 50's and very fun. These will not only look wonderful on, but also on a neck-chain when not being worn. I would wear these with something really basic like a white shirt and jeans or just a LBD and Chanel ballet flats. The only thing that isn't so fun about them is the price. ('Lena' sunglasses: $320)
Next up are these Charlotte Olympia shoes, which I am IN LOVE with! These red platforms are an absolute dream, and I love how she has taken inspiration from the leopard she used to display her shoes to embellish these red beauties. Red, platformed and leopard... I honestly think these are my dream shoes.
These cat flats are another wonderful creation by Charlotte Olympia ( I want her entire collection), as seen on Alexa Chung and those alike, these have been knocking around for a while but I still love them. I want them for work.
Nudes: I have found myself pining over  lot of nude things as of late and these studded ballets and shoulder bag are no exceptions. I just think they are so timeless and classic but with a fun edge. I want these to wear with my trusty denims and a blazer.
The Alexander McQueen python wrap bracelet doesn't really require an explanation- just look at it. Beautiful.
And finally, this little red dress. I think this is fabulous, I want it to go out in next weekend, teamed with my black Zara sandals. (Topshop, £42).

I guess all I need now is to win the lottery.
See you later, I'm off to cry into my pillow about my swollen glands and love for the unattainable. XXX

What's new pussy-cat?!

Blazer: New Look, Cat blouse: Zara, Rose gold necklace: H&M, Clutch: Primark, Watch: ASOS

Hello everyone! I'm baaaaaaack! I'm not really sure why I have been away so long other than just working and generally causing havoc. After receiving a few nudgs from my twitter ladies and anonymous formpringers I thought it was time to pull my finger out, so here I am!
I don't even know where to begin when it comes to telling you what I've been doing etc, as I've been here there and everywhere.
Earlier this month one of my best friends turned 23, and to celebrate, us girls went for a day trip to Manchester where we shopped, drank too much coffee (mainly me) and ate amaaazing food at The Hard Rock Cafe- as a tribute to our wonderful time at the one in Barcelona (SIGH). Here's a few little snaps from the day;

The Mulberry window in Selfridges that I fell in love with; The cheeky little £135 mint mesh number the birthday girl made me try on; The £25 ball of fluff I wanted to buy a little too much from U.O

What I've been wearing

I've been pretty weak with the outfit posts I know, but here's a few pictures from my Instagram... (missy_elz)

And while we're on the subject on Instagram- which let me add I have managed to accumulate over 900 followers on, so thank you! here are a few other miscellaneous pictures from over the weeks :)

Darcy & I keeping it trill; The lip transfers I got from a pound shop; A close up; Fathers Day; The blue pop I got from the American sweetie stand by my work; Topshop lipsticks aka loves of my life; Off to work; A drawing of me by Stacey White; Feet of the day.

Since I have been absent I have also made a few new little purchases including these little gems;

Studded collar shirt; Zara, Pastel shorts; Topshop, Embellished jeans: H&M Trend

Anyway, I think that's enough of me for now, have a fabulous week you lovely lot! Over & out! XXX
