I thought I'd do a piece for you today on one of the upcoming trends that I am really excited by at the moment- White.
Now, I know this isn't the most practical of looks, but impractical is my middle name.
Because I am petite and look quite young, I love crisp, simple looks, with clean lines and well cut shapes as I think that they make me look well finished, and this trend does just that.
Seen on celebrities, at fashion week for S/S '13 and also big on the street style scene (weather permitted here of course) the white trend is so fresh, has such an impact and the pieces that you buy are going to have longevity as well as versatility.
The high streets hot pieces
Loose dipped hem- Topshop, Twist shift dress: Topshop, Cropped knit: Topshop, Metallic heels: Topshop, Necklace: Topshop, Jacket: Topshop, Handbag: ASOS, Sunglasses: River Island, Bone skinny jeans: Topshop, Lipstick- in 'Macarroon'- Topshop, Nail Lacquer- ESSIE.
Accessorising this look
First things first, this look requires a tan, and when I say tan I dont mean I want you all looking like you're one of the new cast members from TOWIE, but a subtle hint of colour is going to make you look healthier, and stop you from looking like Casper the friendly ghost. (Good tans I'd recommend are; Daves, St. Moriz & Superdrugs Solait mousses).
I think simple, clean accessories are a perfect way to compliment white pieces, and so I have chosen metallics, rose hued sunglasses and candy coloured cosmetics, however, as featured above, black and snakeskin also work really well. My only advice would be to keep.it.simple.
Watering it down
Leather jacket: Warehouse, Mid-stone jeans- Topshop, Coated 'Molly' jeans- River Island, Snake clutch: ASOS, Monochrome sandals: Tophop
Obviously this white on white is not going to be to everyone taste, nor their lifestyle, however this doesn't mean it cant be worked to suit you.
For work I will be wearing clean white pieces, such a jackets and shirts, teamed with leather pants or mid wash jeans, or a simple black tee with some white skinnys and some statement jewellery, to incorporate white pieces into a more practical everyday look.
What do you guys think? Is this a look you'll be favouring this season?
