Mirror Mirror

L-R- Isabel Marant, Simone Rocha, Chanel, Isabel Marant

Right now, more than ever, I am absolutely obsessed with metallic accessories. I think they are are really cool way to add interest to outfits and have longevity- because when will a metallic ever, really, go out of style? N.E.V.E.R. They are also super versatile, and I love anything with a good pounds:wear ratio.
Taking inspiration from the above (and beyond), I've picked my top 10 high shine pieces for you - all available right now in stores and online.
But first, can we take a minute to compare this first pair of brogues to the Simone Rocha ones featured above?! Ironically, the below ones are actually Simone's father- designer John Rocha's interpretation, available at Debenhams, for £45, which is a pretty big steal vs. the £675 price tag for Simones (available at Net-a-Porter if you're feeling frivolous)...!

Ways to wear: Topshop plisse trousers.

I bought these trousers a couple of weeks ago, although before I hit the "proceed to checkout" button, I did wonder how often I would wear them... However, after proceeding to buy anyway (obviously), I decided to have a play around with putting together some different looks that can be created around them, and so I thought I'd share them here.
I bought these trousers in black last year and I love them. They tick a lot of boxes for me- lacking colour, elastic waistband, pockets... you know the score, and for £34 I think they are a great buy, especially given the different ways they can be worn.

This first look actually gets me a little excited for summer. I have always loved the combination of cobalt blue and orange, and this season is certainly providing the goods for it.
This top is £22 from Topshop, and is available in a selection of different colours (I have already bought 3 in the past week..) I love how easy to wear it is, and it can be dressed up or down, with jeans, tucked in or out, etc.
I am also obsessed with these Zara mules right now. This mule style is already proving to be very popular again this year and they are also actually very versatile. If the heel height of these puts you off, Zara also have a mid heel pair in black or tan and are currently on my wish list.

Here is a much more casual look, with one of the most statement high street pieces of the year so far- the Mango satin bomber! The colour of this is just divine and really adds a demure pop of colour to mono/neutral outfits.I've accessorised with Adidas superstars and matching tote as these are a great combo for a dressed down a look for a comfy day.

And finally, the 'mono' look. This is a really clean, sharp way to wear these trousers, making them the key focal point for this look. I've used these super versatile (and very cute) Topshop ankle boots to introduce some depth in metallic form, and then pulled that out in the hardware of the bag as well to tie everything together. I'd use the blazer to just cape over the shoulders to give a more chic feel. And for me, an outfit like this should always be completed with a strong red lip!

Wicked (shoe) games.

Today I wanted to talk to you guys about how strong Next's shoe game is this season. For anyone who follows me on Instagram, you will have seen that today I welcomed a new pair of fluffy loves into my life (and not ones who's shit you have to pick up). I am smitten. Not only are they beautiful, they were also a tidy snatch at £30.
Roaming around Next the other day I realised that they currently have such an amazing shoe collection, all at really reasonable prices. I like Next shoes for this fact, along with the quality of them and because they are one of few places on the high street that do half sizes.
I think Next is especially great right now if you're looking to get some new season work shoes, whether that be heels or flats, I would highly recommend you take a look in store next time you're shopping or online. The heel heights aren't too crazy either which makes them perfect for someone like me who spends all day on their feet but still likes to have a bit of height (oh and heels also make me look a lot smarter when in fact I've just bowled into work wearing jeans and a t-shirt).
They have a range of great cut stilettos in right now that are available in a selection of different colours, and loafers that could give Topshop and Zara a run for their money, and save you some of yours.
Here are my top picks- all under £50 and all available online right now. (ps. if you order before 10pm you'll get next day delivery for £3.99 or free to collect from store- win!)
My pink loafers and black/gold block heeled courts are arriving tomorrow... it would've been silly not to.

Monday 1 September 2014

Hello September.

September is here and it is finally a little more appropriate to be discussing coats and boots, and to celebrate, here am I showing you some... coats and boots.
As lovely as the heatwave was, I must say I am actually quite glad its over... Don't you agree? There's something so lovely about it getting a little cooler and being able to layer and buy COATS & BOOTS!
Anyway, here are two little outfits with some pieces I'm enjoying at the moment. For the past month I have completely fallen out of lust with colour and just seem to be more about clean, basic pieces, with minimal fuss, more than ever, such as these above. The fluffy jumper is new in at Topshop and is very similar- if not identical to their basic fluffy jumper last year that they released in lots of different colours. This cream one is a great piece that will carry you through the season, keeping you cosy as well as looking good. I harp on about this every year but for A/W I'm all about textures over colours, and toughening looks up with chunky boots and leathers. These ankle boots are from Zara & they are so beautiful. The ankle cuff detail makes them a little more interesting and they will look great with an ankle grazer and a chunky ankle sock when it gets even chillier. The heel height is also great as it makes them super practical. Fashionable and functional- what more could you want from a boot?
Next up is this checked coat from River Island, which I am in love with! I like the idea of it being worn with casual pieces for a more laid back urban look and teaming it with monochrome pieces makes it the main focal point of this outfit. Here I've teamed it with a pair of Adidas Superstars, which for me are just 'go with everything' classics, but if you're not a trainer kind of girl, it will look just as great with a pair of chunky heeled boots, or slip ons!

When you're not there, I find myself singing the blues.

Crop top- Topshop. Trousers- Dorothy Perkins. Patent sandals- New Look.
Faux leather pelmet skirt- Warehouse. Bowling bag and Coat- Zara. Bracelet- COS.
Dress- eBay. Sunglasses- Miu Miu. Nail Polishes- Topshop. Bralet- Topshop.
Clutch- Whistles. Scallop shorts and sandals- Topshop.

I've found myself increasingly drawn to everything blue lately, and so I thought I'd share with
you some of the things I've been lusting over and buying over the past couple of weeks!
I found the trousers in Dorothy Perkins the other day and they are so lightweight and
beautiful- Ideal for dressing up with a cami and some heels or with a white shirt for a smart but
light work outfit.
The Warehouse pelmet skirt caught my eye the other day when shopping for a client and I
think it is amazing! It's a lot shorter than the sell out Zara pastel skirt from a couple of months
ago, so better for the warmer weather- wherever that is! I'd wear this with another shade or
two of blue and metallic accessories.
The eye print dress is an eBay bargain featured on my dear friend VIPXO's blog from last week.
I couldn't get the Zara one in my size, so when I found out she'd found one for less that a tenner
on eBay I was right in there! Hopefully it will arrive and fit me and I can share it with you guys in
 an outfit post soon!

What I wore.

Jacket, joggers, top & sneakers; All Topshop, Watch: ASOS, Sunglasses: Primark, Clutch; Zara.

Hello everyone, I hope you are all well!
I thought I'd share with you today's outfit.  I've accidentally dressed as a bit of a poster girl for Topshop. But then again, there's very little new here, ever since Topshop started to stock size 4, my wardrobe has had a boost and my bank balance has had a kick in between the legs.
This is the first proper outfit I've had on since Saturday, as I've been in recovery from the wild night out I had ever since! So to ease me in I've gone for a laid back outfit today with just some faux leather joggers teamed with a slouchy basic and some sneakers.
I'm going out tonight for casual drinks later for a friends birthday so I'm now off to figure out what I'm going to wear for that. Ah. No rest for the wicked!

Details.

I thought I'd make a quick post on the details on some of the things I have been buying and wearing over the past week or so. As previously mentioned I went a bit crazy on the Topshop website, however after that I shopped a little more and mixed my new pieces with some of my older pieces when off out and about. I get a lot of people asking me where things are from so going forward I'd like to share all of this info with you on here where I can :)

Outfit 1: Jumper & pants: Topshop, Necklace: H&M, Boots: Matalan, watch: Michael Kors.
Outfit 2: Cardigan: H&M, Basic vest & ginham leggings: Topshop, Boots: As before.
Outfit 3: Fedora: New Look, T-Shirt: Criminal damage @ ASOS, Gilet: Topshop, Leather pants: Topshop, Bag: Vivienne Westwood
Outfit 4: Bomber & Leggings: Topshop, T-shirt & boots: As before, Watch: ASOS, Chain: H&M

On Saturday I went to collect my Topshop parcel from the Satfford store (I love how fast it comes and I haaaate waiting in for parcels at home) and whilst out and about I managed to pick up a few extra things!

Here are my new boots! -Which as you may have noticed, I can not bring myself to take off right now! I am obsessed. partially because they are beautiful -and comfy, but also because they were my bargain of the day. These are actually from Matalan and cost £24, however my Mom had a voucher from her previous visit, so I managed to get them (and a pair of socks) for £20, I was so excited!
The deep coral bag is a piece I'd had my eye on  since the Christmas sales (the one thing I liked being full price, as per) and is £20 from Next. You can't tell so much here but it has a really great texture, and reminds me of the Alexander Wang Rocco. The gold chain on it finishes it so nicely I think too, as I really dislike silver hardware on pieces for me as I wear mostly gold. It also comes in pale grey.
The baby pink clutch caught me eye as I was walking past the Dorothy Perkins window, I love the colour and thought it would be a nice addition to my outfits for the spring, when I saw that it was £10 (full price!) I couldn't leave without it. I also picked up this necklace out of their sale for £3. The nail polish is from the Topshop haul in 'Precocious'.

Friday 24 January 2014

lust list come true.

I really couldnt sleep last night, and as a result, a 3am online splurge happened.
These were pretty much all things that I have been going back to and lusting over for a little bit now- and some were such bargains it would've been silly not to!

The grey slouch top was only £7 and I have always fancied one of these just to throw on. Topshop basics are amazing and an absolute wardrobe staple for me.
I saw the ribbed jumper when  I was shopping the other day and fell a little bit in love with it. I had been eyeing up the gingham leggings for a few days now ad when I saw the jumper I thought they'd make a nice laid back outfit.
I have been obsessed with the print on this playsuit ever since it first came into Topshop a few weeks ago, so when I saw they'd made a playsuit I couldn't resist. I've always favoured shorts, playsuits and pants over dresses and skirts, even for a night out, so this is great for me- I am just praying it fits well! They also have a cami and a skort in this print, which looks great together for a really bold look.
Finally, I caved in to the bird embroidered shirt that I featured on here last week! I adore it and will be wearing it with anything that I own that is similar to that featured in my outfit lust list!

I am so excited to pick all these up tomorrow!
& Note:- I am actually buying C O L O U R! Come at me Spring!

All items are Topshop.

Good Foundations.

Today I wanted to talk to you ladies about underwear. And not just in the way of me saying, ‘oh this is pretty don’t you think? Get it from here...’.
To me, and the ladies I have dressed along the way, the correct underwear can make an outfit good to great.  As well as making you feel that way too. So I wanted to share with you guys some advice and tips on getting the right foundations.

Bra talk: Are you wearing the right size bra?

According to statistics, around 80% of women are wearing the wrong size bra. Which sounds like a pretty exaggerated number- so I thought, until I began working with lingerie two years ago now, but it was when I did that I realised just how many woman, including myself, were so off when it came to their correct bra size. Fast forward a few months where I began dressing people for a living, it really hit home to me.
From my experience, the common problem is that women think that anything above a D is porn star material, and that anything where a small amount of SKIN (not ‘fat’ as I have heard repeatedly for two years) peeps over is too tight. This is where the problems begin.
From the time I started wearing a bra- a hideous bra fitting in M&S which I’m still not quite over, I was lead to believe I was a 32 back.  As the years went on, I thought that as I began to develop it would be the number which would increase not the cup size, and so I moved into a 34. During one of my first weeks working with lingerie and the girls on the department I was grabbed from my bra strap and almost shouted at for wearing a 34b- which to me was perfectly fine and comfortable, however to my surprise (and that honestly, is an understatement..) I was measured properly and was fitted into a 28E. Yes you read that correct. And let me tell you, It fitted like a dream, gone were the problems of the straps falling down, and me having to pull my boobs into my bra again when I looked at myself in the mirror (you all know what I mean). As for wearing strapless bras- you know the dreaded ones where you need it for an outfit but do you want to be pulling it up every 5 minutes? Those days were gone from that point on (except in tanning days where I wear my ‘naughty’ bra, but thats a separate story).
Most women I have ever dressed have had some sort of hang up when it comes to stripping down or wearing certain things, which is perfectly natural, however, with the right type of underwear you can literally change a way an outfit can look on you and make you feel (and look) a lot more confident in the process.
The correct size bra will not only be a lot more comfortable on you, but it will also fix your posture, get your boobs up where they need to be, make any garment hang off you a million times better and can make you look thinner.
My theory is, what is the point of spending money on a fabulous outfit when the foundations are wrong?

So here's a few questions...

Are you buying bras that as soon as you wear them you are putting them on the tightest setting?
If the answer is yes then you are probably wearing a bra that’s too big in the back, those three sets of hooks are to give your bra longevity through wash and wear..

Do your straps fall down, resulting you in tightening them which is making the back of the bra ride up your back?
If yes, again, we have a problem, this again is a sign your in the wrong size bra, and let me add, the higher your bra is at the back, the lower it is at the front, which means your boobs aren’t being supported and are actually calling the shots with your bra, when we need it to be the other way around!

When wearing your bra, do your boobs (or just one) fall slightly out of the cup?
Again, if yes, your bra is too small in the cup size. When fitting for a new bra, it should always be fitted to your larger side- if you have one, to give you maximum support and comfort.
I know there are many websites that will apparently show you exactly how to measure yourself with a few minutes and a tape measure, however all bra’s fit differently- as in some back sizes are slightly more generous than others so for what it is worth, where you can, I would recommend getting fitted into them individually, however, to start, I think every one of you should have a think about your bra, what size it is and how comfy it is, and if in doubt, go and get a professional fit.

Debenhams offer a free bra fitting service and more than likely can fit you in for a fit on the day, within half an hour you could walk out a slightly changed (and surprised) woman!
I am fully aware that most stores stock bras from 32b to about a 38d, meaning that most ladies will feel they will fall into this category, however in so many cases, this isn't so.
In these cases, brands such as Freya, offer lovely sets for fuller busted beauties starting from a 28 back and going up to a K cup!
Department stores are a great place to get lingerie from, as they will stock a selection of brands and can recommend brands and styles that are better suited to your shape.
For a great one stop online shop I would recommend ASOS as they offer a the wide range of sizes and gorgeous styles, as well as great swimwear in more obscure sizes too which is perfect for that extra support in the pool or on the beach.

Lingerie top picks

Strapless: Freya, red lace: Boux Avenue, Teal: Topshop, Nude: Ultimoo, Satin: Topshop, Polka dot: Topshop, Both Black lace: ASOS, Lace and lilac satin: Topshop.

Moving down south...
Okay so now we have covered bras, where do you ladies stand with shapewear?
Personally? I think it’s awesome, and own some myself. When I say this, people pull a similar face, followed by the same comment: ‘what do you need that for’?
I’ll tell you why, because they have the ability to make my outfit look that extra bit better, and they keep me feeling more together after a Prosecco too many.
Now I am not saying that everyone should be walking around sucking themselves in with giant knickers willy nilly, but from all my experience, working one on one with women, they have the power to make that outfit a little bit better, and more importantly,  make ladies (and gentlemen- yes shapewear for men exists) more confident- especially with bigger occasions such as nights out, weddings etc.
You can’t put on a pair of control knickers expecting them to change the world (I once had a girl ask me how long they take to work.....thinking they made you physically lose weight..), but what they do do is a brilliant job of smoothing over areas and giving you that extra bit of confidence...So why not?
Shapewear now comes in a range of shapes and sizes, from your standard control knicker, to now even bum boosting pants!
Debenhams own brand are my absolute favourite for shapewear and come in such a great range of styles for a fraction of the price of brands. However brands such as Spanx are trusted by women all over the world, just don’t think price necessarily reflects the quality, as this is not always the case.
When choosing shapewear that is right for you, you need think about what you want from it, along with what you are going to be wearing it with. If it’s for the tummy, I would recommend just a good high waisted control brief that is seamless to avoid a VPL situation. Other tummy controllers come with leg shapers in which are great if you want to smooth over the thigh area as well, however be conscious of the length of the garment you’re wearing, no one wants to show off their leg shapers!
Control bodies and slips are also a popular choice, and in my opinion are great if you are worried about the top of the brief 'spill over' and want a completely seam free silhouette. These come generally in two varieties; one with a built in bra- available in your bra size, or a cut out body, which goes over your shoulders yet sits under your own bra- available in your dress size.
My advice would always be to go for the latter for the key reason being you will be wearing the correct size bra giving you support and a great shape and the body working to smooth you over, and also because the bodies with the fitted bra and made for a small amount of women who are fully proportionate, assuming that your bra size is relevant to you mid and lower body- so if you deviate away from this corrupt expectation- like most of us do, the maximum support and desired effect isn't going to be achieved!

Shapewear Top Picks.

Top row: all Debenhams own brand, Red satin and Leopard print: Marie Meili, Spanx @ ASOS , Body: Maidenform.

So there it is, the meatiest post ever, however hopefully an eye opening one for some of you, and if I have encouraged even one of you ladies to go and get bra fitted and into a correct sized bra, or one of you to go for 'that' dress thanks to a little shapewear, then I have done what I set out to do! Keep me posted! <3 comment-3--="">

Lust List: River Island

(click for larger image)

Happy Monday guys!
Today I thought I'd share with you some of my absolute favourites from River Islands new Spring range.
You may have seen me tweet about it yesterday, as I popped into their Bullring store whilst on my travels and it got me sooo excited for spring and getting out of my winter wardrobe!
Also, I decided there is no better time to share all these lovely things with you, as tonight for two hours only- 7-9pm, River Island are offering an amazing 20% off online, HOW GOOD! Definitely a good way to perk up a Monday don't you think?!

My two favourites from the first look are the fedora and the over sized blazer, which I think are amazing bold statement pieces that can jazz up even the dullest of outfits. Here I have teamed it with just a cool graphic tee, and their Amelie jeans, which I own a pair of, and let me say, they are amazing. Such a great colour and fit, I'm going to be getting a 2nd pair without a doubt. I've toughened this up with some chunky boots here. but this can be worn with a more feminine practical shoe like a ballet flat.

The second look I've created is definitely one for the summer, but this jacket got me in the mood for the warmer months! The white trousers are an absolute staple when the weather gets hotter as they are classic and look great just teamed with all white or just some black basics and a red lip for something classy but easy. The feather bag, I thought was just the absolute cutest, here I've chosen the lemon, however it is available in some other colours.

Look three's favourites are the blouse and the wide brimmed hat. I was completely in love with the colour and I think it works best with lower key pieces like these ripped jeans and chunky boots. The polka dot blouse, for me, is one of those things you can just wear over and over to create different looks. It would look just a cool tucked into a skirt with a heavily embellished necklace for an evening look, or with some black leather pants and a colour pop heel.

Finally, look four is my favourite, and if my bank balance would allow it, I would get the entire outfit. This embellished jacket is absolutely gorgeous, and because it's mainly monochrome will look great dressed with just some skinny jeans, however here I have chosen to team it with some leather look pants- as they are always my lifesavers when I'm feeling lazy or have last minute plans. I've picked out the fluoro yellow in the collar embellishment and carried it through with the bag and the slippers to keep it all tied together. A crisp white shirt is perfect for this look, as it leaves the jacket and the accessories to do the talking.

Okay, it is now 7pm, so I'm hitting the post button!
Happy shopping, and let me know what you guys buy! :)

Outfit Lust List.

I thought I'd try something a bit different going forward and do my lust lists a little more outfit based, not only do I personally think this will be a little less samey, it is also closer to how my mind works as I see things and instantly build outfits in my head.
Today I've been a little more focused on how I want the weather to be, as opposed to how it currently is! As soon as Christmas is over, I am automatically lusting towards Spring pieces and getting things ready for brighter days (I am aware we haven't even had the snow yet...). All the new lines coming into stores over the past few weeks have got me really excited for the upcoming season. Not particularly in terms of 'trends' but just to freshen up my wardrobe, and maybe, dare I say it, move away from black?
Anyway, here are three looks I've made that I currently wish I had in my wardrobe, and also, maybe even the occasions (and weather) to weather them for!

 (click for larger image)

Outfit 1- I want this all so much! This shirt is now in the Topshop sale. I used the red lip and heels to add a bit of power to the outfit, as I thought the pastel embroidery on the white fabric is a bit wishy washy for me personally. A red lip is also almost an every day staple for me any these days to distract people from my tired eyes. The gold bag is from Whistles, and the sunglasses are ASOS, everything else is Topshop!

Outfit 2- I saw this jumper in Selfridges the other day and I thought it was so cute, but then when I saw it was £55 I almost choked on my Starbucks, therefore this is only to be a pipe dream piece. I'm not adverse to spending money on things- as I am sure you all know (!), but for a piece like this it just doesn't make sense to me. However! If i were to have it, this is how I'd like to wear it! I think these boots are awesome, I am so in love with the colour of them, and right tnow they are £15 on Topshop.com, which is insanely good! All items are again Topshop, aside from the duffle, which is from Zara.

Outfit 3- I can't see me being able to wear this outfit any time soon, unless someone whisks me away to somewhere far and hot, however, when surfing through the Topshop sale and finding this kimono for a cheeky £25, I was inspired and I thought it would look really cool dressed down, for a Boho kind of look.
The boots are the perfect accessory to this look and are from Zaras new collection. I think they are the perfect boot to go with almost anything, and have a really good heel height. A potential pay day purchase! The fedora is from River Island, and is a perfect piece to assist you through the A/W to S/S transition and yonder. I bloody love a good hat... The necklace is also River Island and the rose gold watch is Nikon at ASOS.

Class in a glass

If you follow me on Instagram or Tumblr, you will have already seen this photo, but I just love it so much I wanted to dedicate a post on it.
For me it is a line up of almost every key piece a woman should have in her wardrobe.
I absolutely adore the simplicity of each of these outfits and how they just ooze class. Now personally I am not enamoured with a kitten heel, and they are certainly not something that I would/could wear, but somehow these seem to work?!
Regardless, overall, I am super in love with these looks and how they lack fuss and any sense of real effort. As you know I'm a lover of timeless pieces and minimal style, so I thought I'd share with you some of my top picks for this kind of simple look.

Necklace and light wash boyfriend jeans; River Island, Gold watch; Nikon @ ASOS, Two tone clutch bag; Zara, All other items; Topshop.

What do you guyes thinks about this type of style? Rate it?...Or prefer something a bit more ramped up?

Wish List

Bag: Debenhams, Skirt: Topshop, Headphones & Earbuds: Net-A-Porter, Juicepack: Selfridges, Pyjamas: River Island, Beanie, Necklace, Shoes& Lipsticks: also Topshop.

I thought I'd share with you guys some of the things I have been lusting over this week. Most of which are surprisingly girly for me!
The pink Birkin style bag is Jasper Conran for Debenhams, and is a limited edition piece to celebrate their 200th birthday. Only 200 were made. This bag is so beautiful in real life and would add such a fabulous pop of colour to my usually morbid looking outfits!
The skirt is Topshop, but £100 will be no more than an item on this list for me, especially as I have both of the black vinyl skirts from there but have never worn them.
The tech bits are for my daily commutes. I can't travel without loud music playing throughout the entire duration and so some good headphone are required and my rhinestone ones from a couple of years ago have broken. (waaa). The phone case is also a juice pack, which I am in dire need of considering my iPhone 5 battery is so shit I have to carry around my 4S too as a back up.
These lipsticks will be in my next purchase line up. As I've said before, Topshop lipsticks are my absolute favourite over any others, and this super dark one in 'Ruthless' will be so good for a vampy look- which I am loving at the moment.
Finally, THESE SHOES. Oh my days, no words. Just look at them......

Jeans: H&M
Clutch: Red Herring, Debenhams
Boots: New Look

Hello everyone!
I thought I'd share with you guys what I wore today, which includes a couple of my new pieces that I've purchased since I've been away from here!
I'm not sure how I have managed to be gone for 13 days, but I'm still here..
It's really hard for me to properly photograph anything I wear as I'm at work or asleep most of the time, so I have to rope my brother into taking some pictures when I can, which is a bit rubbish I know.

Today was such a beautiful day! Chilly but lovely and sunny, which for me is one of my favourite kinds of weather. I got up early and went for a walk this morning to get some air and clear my head, and it was 3 degrees, but so lovely! After getting back and showering, I decided it was certainly a day for a lot of layers and so I opted for a thick sweat, leather jacket and fur, generally what I have seemed to live in the past 2 A/W's!

The Bambi sweater is one of my absolute favourite things right now. I wanted the Givenchy one so badly when I saw it and so when I found this dupe on eBay I was super excited and bought it instantly!
I got it for £23 and the quality is really good! It was listed as a mens size small, which was a risk for me as I wear a women's size 4, but it fits really nice, so clearly not true to size!

This Burberry inspired bag is something I picked up from my work a couple of weeks ago. I'd liked it for a while,(so much so I made a young fashion hotspot based on it) and on a bit of a rubbish day I decided it was going to be mine. Retail therapy and all that...! It's the first time I've used it, but I think I'll be using it a lot of bring a bit of fun to some of my outfits. Even though it's a clutch, it's surprisingly roomy, which is a must for me, as I seem to carry half of my life around with me 80% of the time.

What I wore.

Hello you lovely lot, I hope you're all well on this very wet ugly looking Monday!
I was meant to share with you this post nearly a week ago but due to various set backs, it's a little late!

Here I am wearing some faux leather joggers that I picked up about a month ago.
I'd only ever really worn these pants dressed up with some sandals and a silk cami, but I thought I'd try them with my latest pair of Nikes for a more laid back look.
The T-shirt is by Criminal Damage and reads 'Give in to me' but is printed as a play on words to suggest at a glance that it says 'Givenchy'. I really like these kind of t-shirts but I'd been seeing a lot of the same ones about and so when I saw this I thought it was a little bit different, plus, we all know I'm all about the Givenchy at the moment!
The blazers are as I said my latest additions...
I am completely obsessed with Nikes and I'm racking up quite a collection. I was feeling pretty much over Nike blazers but when I saw these I couldn't resist as they are perfect to wear with so many things for a not so obviously sporty look. I also managed to pick these out of the kids section as I'm only a size 4, so I got them for £47, as opposed to the regular £70, which suits me just fine!

Kate Bosworth for Topshop

So today Kate Bosworth’s collection for Topshop launched, and honestly, it is a cracker!
I’m not one for jumping massively on the bandwagon with anything especially when it comes to things I don’t wholeheartedly believe in or love just for the sake of being part of the hype, and so the fact I’m blogging about this line is down to the fact I think it’s actually really, really good.
For me, as I ALWAYS harp on about, I’m into simple pieces, with clean lines and have always enjoyed texture over print, and so this collection is an absolute winner for me.
The collection features an array of simple clean cut pieces in white, black, red and silver and plays with predominantly leather (my favourite and saviour), fine knits and sheepskin.
Prices for the collection are from £12 to a very designer-esque £595.
However, for those who need a strong justification for making such purchases, I can assure you that the majority of pieces from this collection are more of an investment than a frivolous fad purchase, as the pieces are high quality basics and can be dressed up, or down and can be worn in so many ways that the ‘pounds per wear’ will give you that reasoning you may be looking for.
I was initially going to do my top 5 from the collection, but out of 41 pieces currently in front of me, I’ve had to go for 9 instead, and that is an effort I assure you, so here are my top picks...

(Clockwise)
Leather pants: £295, Leather Sweater: £125, Foil Tee: £65, High Neck Sweat: £40, Sheepskin Clutch: £120, Patent Court: £90, Leather Boyfriend Coat: £195, Long V Neck Tee: £20, Foil Dress: £75.

Style Stealer: Givenchy

-->

As of late I have been completely obsessed with Givenchy.
My heart will always be more with the edgier styles and things with a bit of an attitude and so some of the pieces from the last couple of collections have left me completely enamoured. However, not so much with the price and so I thought I would share with all of those who like me, love the pieces but not the price tag, how to get the look at a much more bank balance friendly price.
Some of these pieces have been everywhere recently seen on magazine covers such as Elle Fanning on the cover of Miss Vogue Australia, as well as the likes of Amanda Seyfried, Anna Dello Russo, Rhianna (sporting the flame sweater in a fash-off with a penguin- see Instagram, I've not lost my mind) and even little North West has a custom mini Bambi t-shirt.... I'm officially jealous of a 3 month old, nice one Riccardo Tisci.
My favourite piece from the Autumn/Winter '13/'14 range is the Neoprene Bambi sweater. I love how Lily Collins wore it alone with just some heels and a vampy lip, definitely an outfit that I'd love to wear on a night out, plus a couple of layers of fake tan though, I couldn't rock pale like our Lily can.

I’ve tried to get as many high street pieces as possible as opposed to going down the eBay dupe route, purely because I personally really dislike the postage and waiting around element to ordering from certain online retailers and I’m lucky enough to work in the middle of a huge shopping centre and so I like things to be a little more accessible. And more importantly, other lovely bloggers do the ebay thing way better than I could do & so I’m leaving it to them!
