"I'm a bit picky with my style and was wondering if you could suggest some wardrobe basics I like things between Hayley Williams and Rachel Bilson and I'm on a student budget ha! thanks, btw LOVE the blog :)"
I've created 3 day looks which I think channel the natural style of both these ladies, all of which include items that are all under £50. However, first of all, here's a few little things to think about when on a budget!
Both these girls staples include good denim- which I'm sure you already have (!) and is a key item in all their day time looks.
Cut up an old pair of jeans to make your own DIY frayed hem shorts- they'll be more personal and will save you money.
Basic vests in white, black and grey are perfect to wear under statement waistcoats/jackets.
Check sites like eBay and charity shops for grunge style tee's and vintage waistcoats for one of a kind items.
Use accessories to give your outfit a grunge edge such as; layered necklaces, wayfarer style sunglasses, bowler hats and fringed/studded bags.

"Hi there, you are so great answering all these questions, so I was just wondering if you could do a post on how to get ivy from 90210's style and with like 'get the look' sort of thing, it would be much appreciated thanks in advance xxxxx"
Ahhh I love this girls style, so thank you for requesting it! Here are 4 of my fave looks that I think you can be worked this summer!
Get the Look.
Outfit 1: Denim shirt, shoes bag & necklace: Topshop, Palazzo pants: Miss Selfridge, Halter leotard: American Apparel.
Outfit 2: Vest: Truffle Shuffle, Hat, kimono, necklace, lipstick & bag: Topshop, Clogs: Aldo @ ASOS
Outfit 3: Hat & necklace: ASOS, Boots: vinatge (eBay), Tee, shorts & shopper: Topshop.
"I really like your ways to wear posts & think you always have great answers, so i thought id try you with an item i'm challanged by - this topshop playsuit! http://media.topshop.com/wcsstore/TopShop//images/catalog/36P34WMUL_normal.jpg xx"
Thank you!
Here I have created 4 different looks;
1. This is a colder weather outfit, that shows how you can wear something quite summery a completely different way to how you normally would. You can also swap the heels for just some black ballet flats for a smart work look.
2. this is a casual day look, with a slightly western spin. The red bag brings out the red n the playsuit and adds a nice colour pop making the outfit a bit more fun.
3. This look is a very laid back sunny day outfit, perfect for a holiday, swap the sandals for a pale heel for a more evening look.
4. This is an evening look, with a really summery vibe. The clutch and shoes are contrasting yet are both in the playsuit. The jacket adds a sharp edge and ties it all together!
Yesterday I finally turned the big two two, turns out it's not as bad as I thought but I think that the blow was seriously cushioned with all the fabulous things I had and did!
I'm not sure how to really blog about yesterday so I think it's just going to be waffle and pictures!
First part of the day, I woke up at my boyfriends and had some of the morning with him before he went back to uni, he bought me this Moschino bag (I love it so so much!), some Moschino perfume & loads of chocolate (inc a Freddo egg, WITH A FREDDO TOY IN IT!!!).
After that I visited my Nan & Grandad & Uncle, and then went into town with my Mom for a little wander 'round.
What I wore.
When I got back my sister arrived home from school and gave me my cake & presents, including a few pairs of shoes <3
Later that day I went and did more family stuff with my Dad, Step-Mom, Brother, Grandma, Auntie & Cousin, oh, and had more cake. (Got to love candles...!) My Dad bought me a Vintage Moschino belt, A Rocco style bag & a toilet brush (?!!), amongst other bits and bobs!
My little Brother bought me this Ben De Lisi dog lamp- isn't it fun! & My Step-Mom got me these little jewellery drawers.
Finally the day ended with me meeting up with my girls (minus Freya :(- but there in spirit!) at Pizza Express.
(Jane Norman Jacket)
(Enjoying the giant lighter my Step-Mom got me!)
<3
Here are a few other bits I had/bought with my b'day ££££!
I also got some new mid wash skinnies & a MASSIVE clutch bag, which I'll have to show you guys in another post, I love it!
In one of my previous posts 'TOPSHOP NEW IN', I featured a pair of denim scalloped edge shorts, but within a couple of hours of me posting, they were completely sold out & Topshop.com haven't had them in since. A lot of people were asking me about them, and so I have hunted down some similar ones for you guys!
Hello! Had another crazy busy week this week so haven't even picked up my laptop! (Prompting the question 'who the fuck is Rebecca Black?!)
Anyway, I've decided to do just a little really quick post today as it is my last day of being 21! I was initially quite scared about turning 22 but now I'm just excited for the presents and birthday events I have, as opposed to thinking about the number. Can't wait to see my girls tomorrow to drink wine & go to Pizza Express <3)
I've bought a few things this week which I am going to blog about- probably Tuesday, and I will also hopefully have lots of photos from tomorrow (pics from my meal & presents etc!).
Here is just a rubbish photo of me that I took yesterday after work- Look how messy my room is, waaa :(
I hope you all had a super weekend & I will blog more sensibly on Tuesday (day off- WOO).

Monday, 14 March 2011
Hello everyone! Long time no post, I know. I’ve been horribly busy with starting work, commuting, 5am starts and catching up on sleep, ad also trying to have a tiny bit of a life! I hope all of you lovely readers are well and haven’t forgotten/given up on me.
My blogging won’t be as frequent from now on because of me having such little free time but I am going to carry on as much as possible, and hopefully it will get better as I begin to adjust to such long days.
Anyway, since ive been gone, and actually, a little bit before I went, I have been up to a few little things that I have documented via photograph, ready to share with you, so here it goes!
My Sisters 12th party.
A few weeks ago my sister turned 12 and had a little party at Pizza Hut...
...she also got tickets to see Justin Bieber live at the Birmingham NIA so off we went on the 5th, the opening night of his UK tour. Say what you will about the guy but he was actually so good live! Willow Smith & her brother Jaden also performed that night, along with some lesser known artists, all which were incredible. It was a really good night although my hearing it still in recovery as you can imagine the noise room all the 10year old girls screaming ‘I LOVE YOU JUSTIN’ all night.
What I wore
This isn't the greatest of outfit pictures but I was in a super rush as my Mother & Step father insisted we leave super early to avoid being late (we were there 1 hour and a half early.....)
I went for a kind of colour block outfit which included my lovely red Topshop Blazer, Topshop cape blouse, some River Island pull ons and my purple Office courts.
Miss Guided
All during the last week or so I entered a MissGuided facebook competition, which was being held to celebrate their 2nd birthday and guess what, I won!
I won 2x 2 lip splashes, 2x 3 nails plashes and 2 x £30 voucher for their site!
I have always been a big fan of their nail splashes so I was really excited to be receiving more as well as being able to try out their lip glosses.
Unfortunately, none of the clothes on their site fit me and so I am offering the 2 £30 voucher codes to anyone that would like them for £40 for them both, so please contact me if you are interested! (email/twitter/formspring)
Eyeko
In other make-up/freebie related news, thanks to one of you lovely readers I made my first Eyeko ambassador sale, and to say thank you Eyeko sent me a little goodie pack with cards stickers and one of their lip glosses in ‘Mayfair’, which I LOVED!
And finally!
I haven’t really bought anything this week (other than a few steak-bakes & magazines) as I’ve been working and trying to not spend money, however I did buy myself a little treat mid week; a Topshop Lipstick.
As you know, I wanted this anyway after seeing it on their site, so I popped in before work to test it out and I loved it.
I tried to take a picture of me wearing it but it hasn’t come out so great so apologies for that!
The lipstick is in shade ‘Coy’ and costs £7 from Topshop.com and selected stores.
So, there you go, that has been my week. Hope everyone has enjoyed theirs!
Ps. Thank you to everyone who has sent me formsprings over the past few weeks, I really appreciate every one of them and I aim to respond to them all, but due to the high amount that I receive, combined with the time it takes me to answer and the little amount of time I now have free I am unable to answer them all as quickly as I like so hold on in there and I will try my hardest to get back to you.
To those who haven't visited my blog for a while or noticed the little image on the left side of my page, I am now an Eyeko Cosmetics ambassador.
If you purchase anything from their site and enter my personal code E14350, you will receive a free gift (& help me out too!).
Believe it or not, I have been using Eyeko products since I was about 11 years old, after reading about their products in Elle Girl magazine (who remembers it?!). Initially I was enticed in purely by the products kitsch packaging but when the products arrived and I got using them I was hooked and are still using some of their products today.
Back then the products were all the same as now and there are some that they no longer sell and of course lots of new stuff.
My top picks!
Big Eyes mascara: £8.50, Minty Fat Balm: £6.50, 3 in 1 cream: £8.50
These 3 products are all things that were in my first order back in the day and I still use them today.
The 'big eyes' mascara is perfect for thickening up even the most sparse lashes like mine & the fat balm adds a pale pink, gold pigmented sheen to your lips, whilst keeping them soft and happy.
The 3 in 1 cream (used by Kylie Minogue!) is great for the cheek bones or to highlight just under your brow, or even for a slight shimmer elsewhere!
Eyeko also have little gift sets with items in which work out even cheaper. so it's definitely worth a browse.
"Could you tell me some outfits to wear with the pink skinny 7/8ths jeans from Topshop? thank you.x"
(Leaf bracelet & leopard belt: Jane Norman, Bag: ASOS, all other: Topshop)
Look Number 1. This look is aimed to be for an evening/night out. The navy tank breaks the outfit up and adds a cool hue to the outfit to stop it from looking to burnt. The sandal go perfectly as the stop before the ankle to avoiding cutting them off and making your legs look a funny length.
Look Number 2. This looks is a summers day. The t-bar sandals are great to throw on with these jeans and just a tee.
Look Number 3. Finally this outfit is a simple look that can be worn just for a casual day shopping/college etc. A shell shade top and a printed belt with jazz up your new jeans and just a simple pair of black flats and a biker jacket.
"If you had £100 to spend in topshop right now, what would you buy? xx"
I've picked this mickey tank, because it's such a happy item of clothing. I'd cut the neck so it wasn't so high. The jeans, purely because I need new ones. The lipstick because I never wear usually wear it but I really want to try this colour & finally the bag because I've wanted it for about 6 months!
I have always be a huge fan of Zara as it’s good quality, simple yet stylish apparel, and this season doesn’t disappoint. I am loving their neutral hues with bold pinks and oranges- perfect for those wanting to channel the block colouring trend.
Here are a few of my Top apparel and accessory picks from Zara S/S’11.
