i don't like wearing heels to go out in because i am tall as it is, and i just tower over all my friends. what sort of shoes would you recommend to wear on a night out that aren't heels? thankyou

As you are planning on wearing the flats for a night out, I would recommend something smart but classic. I think a good quality well cut ballet flat looks just as beautiful as a high heel- think Alexa Chung in her black leather & patent Chanel's. 

However as Chanel isn’t on everyone’s budget I would high recommend you check out French Sole (Click here to shop!). French sole offer a beautiful range of ballet style shoes in all different textures, prints and styles, I recommend either a good animal print- perfect for this season, or just a patent leather. I think a slightly lower cut ballet flat (meaning showing off a bit of toe cleavage) makes the shoe look more elegant and stylish, as opposed to resembling something you see women wearing with socks & bootleg trousers for work. Ballet flats are perfect for teaming with skirts and dresses, as well as sticking on to smarten up a pair of jeans.
Another path to go down is an embellished or appliquéd shoe, for example, studs, sequins, bows, etc!
